I'm more inclined to the AMD's since I won't have to buy a new power supply. However, I'm not even sure that this GDDR3 650Ti will even need a 6-pin power connector. Btw, there are a ton of listings for a "GT 650"? Its an unofficial card with a 256-bit memory bus, 4500MHz memory clock (effective?) but labled as DDR3, which makes asbolutely no sense to me. Its still GK107 which means it must be somewhere between a GT 640 and GTX 650. I'm just trying not to side-grade here.
R7 250 is actually just a Hd 7750. The R7 250x is a Hd 7770 ghz The gtx 650ti is about the same performance as R7 250 anyways. A few frames depending on the game. All three would be better then that GT 640. I have seen that gtx 650ti on ebay. I dont trust it one bit. Its specs dont match anything from nvidia or aib partners either. All 650ti are 128bit ggdr5 with 86gbs memory bandwith. That ebay 650 says 384bit ggdr3 with 86 gbs 1800mhz My 8800gt was 56gbs with 256bit at 1800mhz ggdr3 And I can tell you that cooler is cheap junk. No heatpipes, no copper base, and very low cheap rpm fans.
Yep, 30mins of googling have told me that those cards are 1) Most certainly nowhere near the specs of a GTX 650 or even my current card 2)Probably G94 chips, as in 9600GTs 3)Somehow still being advertised on Ebay I'm almost certainly going with a 250 or 7750 now.
Good choice. I ran a HD 5770, e5300 2.6ghz, 4gb ddr3 250gb sata hd, on a 280w psu for my gfs son computer. He plays minecraft, roblox and some flash games. Hes nine. Never had a problem with the pc and its a prebuilt dell. /puke. But perfect for a kid.
Dang, you're right. R7 250 is about 20w more which is probably pushing the limits. All self respect lost. :s3d:
More future-proofing than anything. I'm only concerned since every website that lists the r7 250/250x says a 500W PSU is required. Maybe it will run just fine.
Do you play yourself? Cause Im not hating at all. Just he is borderline obssesed with the game. But his also autistic(Asperger). I cant play the game cause no invert for aim. I use to play with him.
I pretty much quit in '13, but I've spent years 24/7 playing Roblox. If I hadn't put so much allowance into the game I might have had a decent rig by now. Regarding power supplies most websites usually list 400w for my 640. I know I'm not even close to that because I overclocked my 64x2 with voltage increase from 1.325 to 1.375. On top of that I overclocked the card from 1.000 to 1.112v.
Power supply reccomendations are for whole system wattage, not just for the card. Honestly, a decent 400w would do just fine. I powered a q6600 @ 3.6, 4gb ddr2 800@1000, HD 5770, 9800gtx+ for physx, 4xhard drives, sata drive, 8 fans, and Corsair H50 on a OCZ 550w with no problem. I know what you mean about funding Roblox. Its crazy the amount of money one can spend to fund things in that game. My gfs son used to get $20 a month for that game minimum till she started to realize how insane that was when I came around.
