pretty decent speeds for portable storage, Isn't as compact as the Corsair voyager gtx, but the price and storage size is appealing. thanks for the review!

Impressive indeed. I am in the market for large/fast USB 3.0 storage and this will fit the bill.

Cool drive. But that proprietary connection to the device (typical Samsung) makes it a never purchase for me.

It looks like a USB3 micro B to me.

...there's no proprietary connection here, that's micro USB 3.0

Definitely not proprietary as that is the connection for all USB 3.0 HDs.

Yep it's a standard USB 3.0 connector. Now if this was apple it would be some bespoke cable that would be used for only that drive :D.

Still I've been toying with the idea of buying a USB3.0 caddy and putting my own SSD in there but im too lazy so this could fit the bill :p

I'd rather just buy a USB 3.0 enclosure and get a SATA 3 SSD. I'm not sure how much performance I'd lose (if any) but if I really want the best performance for an external drive, I'll go for eSATA.

That's the secure boot partition. Try to open the installer enter enter the quick setup and the rest should become available.
