Same as UK, after the warranty its all about proving it had an inherent fault.

    Relevant to ops post

no driver comes with warranty, and nvidia free's themselves from any responsibilities that arise from them in their terms of service.

This thread seems as bad as the guy who said a specific manufacturer of a graphics card had a 2 year warranty even though their website said 3 year warranty, all because a shop they use said they only have a 2 year warranty and he would rather believe the shop, which has nothing to do with the manufacturer of the card, over the actual manufacturer...

Thank you for the warning, but it simply isn't true. You don't loose warranty on your hardware for using any kind of driver. There may be uneducated or even crooked support people of system sellers that do (they often just want you to use the drivers available from them, which are usually really outdated), but it isn't true nor enforcable in European law. To avoid them getting all kinky about it, just don't tell them which drivers you use or tell them you're using the latest ones from your website, nobody will be able to tell. If you have them repair your system, just do a factory reset before letting them work on it (make an image of your old config beforehand) to avoid confusion on their part.
That said, many "WHQL-certified" drivers have been worse than the hotfixes, especially when suffering from issues that are hotfixed by the hotfix. That's why hotfixes are needed in the first place. Then again, hotfixes are meant for users with specific problems only, so you might want to skip them if you aren't affected by said problem. Sometimes they include undocumented fixes for other problems as well, however, so they can be worth checking out.

    Poppen?

I'm trying to make some sense out of the OP post and the comments here. Ehm, Franz mate you are a member since 2010, and it feels like your little brother used your account to post something as a prank really.

I'll close this thread, but posting BS threads in the end will have a consequence.
