    I have a small concern: currently I'm using NVIDIA driver, but previously I was using AMD. Recently, Windows update suddenly downloaded a graphics adapter driver for my AMD card, even though I'm not using it. So I'm kinda worried that there are still some leftover AMD registries and files somewhere.

    Is it safe for me to run DDU and select to remove AMD driver files, while still having the NVIDIA driver installed? Or do I have to uninstall the NVIDIA driver, then proceed to clean up whatever AMD driver files there might be left?

    You can clean the amd driver without any problems. Every options in DDU should be safe.

    That sounds serious. Was there any bug in 13.3.0.0?

    Nothing destructive. Its just that after cleaning up and rebooting, the AMD driver would get reinstalled because it wasn't removed from the driver store.

    After using your program in safe mode, which ran without errors, i did a search for "Nvidia" in regedit.
    Some of the keys, (there were still more), that showed up were:

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Local Settings\MuiCache\214\52C64B7E
    @C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\Control Panel Client\nvcpluir.dll,-2210
    @C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\Control Panel Client\nvcpluir.dll,-2211

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\MuiCache\214\52C64B7E
    @C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\Control Panel Client\nvcpluir.dll,-2210
    @C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\Control Panel Client\nvcpluir.dll,-2211

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\PnpLockdownFiles
    %SystemDrive%\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\coprocmanager\detoured.dll
    %SystemDrive%\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\coprocmanager\detoured.dll
    %SystemDrive%\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\license.txt
    %SystemDrive%\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\NVSMI\MCU.exe

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\PnpLockdownFiles
    %SystemDrive%\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\coprocmanager\detoured.dll
    %SystemDrive%\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\coprocmanager\detoured.dll
    %SystemDrive%\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\license.txt
    %SystemDrive%\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\NVSMI\MCU.exe

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winsat
    PrimaryAdapterString

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\services\eventlog\Application\NVIDIA OpenGL Driver

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\services\nv_agp

    Is there a reason why these keys are not removed?

    Well, yes !
    DDU is still not 100% complete, there is changes with almost every drivers release.
    Also , for example, the nv_agp one you post on last line must not be removed. its a integrated driver of windows.
    Ill check for the other keys you mentioned.

    Hello. I am preparing to install my GTX 980 tomorrow and have two questions:

    In the Options menu, it says "Remove AMD/NVIDIA folders (NOT recommended)". Why is this not recommended? I have always removed those folders when installing new drivers and haven't noticed any problems.

    Also in the Options menu, there is "Remove monitor etc." option, which is recommended. What is the purpose of this? Why is it recommended?

    Thank you again for your program. Expect a donation soon!
