IIRC it contains the DLC, improved graphics and gameplay tweaks etc.
It evens out some of the difficulty spikes of the original for a more balanced game.

But yes, would prefer a sequel as well given the choice.

Not that I've noticed. It's mostly completely silent.

It's also going to be the first project of their new studio.
They most likely thought it would be a good way to get the studio up to speed on the updated Road Hog Engine.

But, they've said there's a definite future for Hard Reset.

Flying Wild Hog is working on two projects: Shadow Warrior 2 and yet unannounced FPS title (could this be an Hard Reset sequel???). And Hard Reset Redux will be released this year too:

Yeah, at the end of 2015 they opened "Flying Wild Hog Cracow"
This opened up the main Poland studio to be able to put more focus directly on Shadow Warrior 2.

The Cracow studio is said to be the guys working on Redux, and from there will be working on another project.
I hope it's a sequel. I loved Hard Reset, while it did have a few little issues... it's a great twitch shooter.

(Ok, thanks, just wondered if it's nominal to Thermaltake.)

Interesting to see HR:R once it's out.

Any ETA on SW 2? Steam page says 2016 so pretty vague still.

At Pax all they would say is that it's coming 2016. But, they were talking up E3 pretty heavy, saying they would have some big announcements at E3.

So, I could see a release date reveal then.

Unfortunately, they said in an interview that the new Flying Wild Hog (Cracow) project will be something completely different...

Btw: Hard Reset Extended Edition is on Steam for 2.02 untill 9th of May!

So they made a Painkiller, Hard Reset and Shadow Warrior. Redux for HS is coming as well as SW2 now we need a new Painkiller game.

Yes, People Can Fly made Painkiller.

But, the bulk of the staff of Flying Wild Hog came from People Can Fly. It's why Hard Rest is so similar to Painkiller.

People Can Fly birthed multiple studios, The Farm51 (NecroVisioN), Flying Wild Hog (Hard Reset, Shadow Warrior) and The Astronauts (Vanishing of Ethan Carter).

I loved Painkiller, Hard Reset, and Shadow Warrior. Shadow Warrior 2 looks like a lot of fun and is even more beautiful thanks to the upgraded Road Hog Engine and the creative minds at Flying Wild Hog. I look forward to playing this one for sure later this year.

On a related matter:

https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/201...retrospective/

SW was definitely a positive surprise in every sense of the word. Not only a superior reboot but a damn fine game on and of its own.
Plus it had a surprisingly meaningful storyline. Gosh, I miss Hoji...

...
Hoji: "Sexy and bossy, I must try that too!"
Lo Wang: "You need to work on the sexy part."
Hoji: "You b*tch!"

Yeah they're a cool bunch. I love how they updated the 2011' game with DX11 and 64 bit and didn't charge a penny. DX9 version ran poorly on my old pc but DX11 ran @ 60fps all the time.

I do look forward to it as well but the change in focus from the first game to a sort of semi-Borderlands co-op experience well I'm not entirely sold on that but Flying Wild Hog usually makes good games so I'm fairly sure it'll work out.

^ co-op is totally optional and the game can enjoyed solo just as well.
The amount and rank of enemies scales with the number of players I think.

I like the new verticality and more freedom of movement seen in this. The last one was a corridor shooter literally.
It was meant to be one though, but this seems better anyway.
