Only 6 episodes in season 1 ? I guess they thought it wasn't going to get good ratings.

Well at least it wont be too long like supernatural 22 episodes per season, they know how to drag a story out.

6 x 1 hour?

That's 6 hours, plus the original was like an hour and a half or so...so that's 6 and a half ours in the first season...that's like 3 Star Wars films, and this is high quality TV, so it's not cheap.

Also watching Boardwalk Empire, really good.

Yes but still Supernatural 22 x 45min = 990min / 60min = 16.5 Hours

Any case I see season 2 will have 13 Episodes, thats why I say the first season looks like a test run to see if the people like it. Thats most probably why it only has 6 episodes.

really GOOD show. no dumb characters in the first episode
second episode wasn't as good as the first one, saw a few mistakes and didn't feel as epic as the first one.
we'll see

Yeah, that latest episode...whew, did not expect. Massacre. Mexicans pissed me off though, they moan about how the Sheriff & Co attacked them, and that's why they thought they were raiders.

Your two ****ing thugs attacked first! AND kidnapped a friend of theirs! Then they have the gall to say it's the Sheriff's Fault? Then they say that the guns belong to them, despite, well, him in the Sheriff outfit, holding the bag of guns that also says "Sheriff" on it...? I mean cmon. I understand they want them, but they act so self-righteous about it, it pissed me off.

They attack first, then accuse the Sheriff's gang of being thieves, jerks, ect.

I think its a good portrayl of how it will be if this scenario happened. There would be very cautious people that are aggressive to defend their property and such.

I really didnt expect for the crew in the city to make it back just to camp in time. I thought they were going to come back to dead bodies everywhere, but then the show probably would have been over.

**hope we arent spoiling it for others**

This series makes me think of something surviving and help each others people. There's nothing we can do for it by just running or escape from town to town.

The show's got someone's panties in a twist.

I'm going to look into this. I think I've seen the first episode but can't remember.

that is hwo you know it is a good show. If you have that type of visceral reaction FOR a character or senario in a show, its damn good. If they was complaining about the writing, that is indicate of bad show. But he complains as if he is actually there.

Damn good show.

Great show, especially the intro is so well done, fits you right in the apocalyptic atmosphere. I too am surprised why there are only 6 episodes, as said before my guess is they did not expect such positive reviews. What makes this zombie ''movie'' unique is that it actually feels real and beliveable, I really hope they plan more seasons.

The reason for the short season length is probably that production costs are relatively high. In general people cost more than machines and the zombies require a lot of extras, a lot of makeup art & a lot of little physical SFX.

I hope it has staying power for 3-4 seasons at least. Right now the numbers are holding up very well, with almost no drop so far. Oscillating around 5m viewers with +- 250k.

Compare that with the event which debuted at 11m and is now down to 5.19m viewers. That's just to say there's usually a massive falloff, but in this case the show is actually picked up viewers in the male demographic.

Love the show but the last episode, number 5 was a bit slow. Still dragging on from the previous episode only with more mourning and talking and less zombie killing.

yeah me and the wife just watched number 5,do agree with what your saying,a little slow...

I told my wife when Merl was trapped on that roof and he hacked his own hand offto escape the handcuffs that he would survive and take out many zombies...Merls a a proper Gung-Ho Zombie Basher, wonder how hes gonna make his reappearance and when.

I too have been watching, and have enjoyed it so far, but one thing that still bothers me, Why-TF would you cut your hand off when it would be far less painful and easier to cut the all-thread?

Well the only reason to be carrying around a hacksaw is to cut through metal locks. I assume that's the kind of saw they had, so it could cut through the handcuffs themselves.

Of course for formulaic TV it's more fun to have him cut off his whole hand instead of cutting the pipe or breaking some bones/cutting the thumb off.

Didn't they clarify that it was just a bluff in the end? I was talking at the scene at the hospital for the elderly. It ended well anyway and they shared the guns

He cut his hands off because he thought the Zombies were going to break-through and he had no time.
