That is brilliant news, loved the first amazing game so can't wait to see what the sequel dishes up. Wonder if Corvo will be the main dude again??
They could make the exact same game, same mechanics, same set up, everything, even the same enemies just on new maps and I would still give them my cash, that's how much I loved the first game.
Currently playing through the first one after having it gifted to me by a mate. Thoroughly enjoying it so far, but as much as id like a direct sequel, dishonored should take a lesson from the second bioshock in what happens when you try to capture the magic of the first game by doing a direct sequel as i felt bioshock 2 was extremely avg. Even if it was developed by a seperate team. I dont think that direct sequels work well with these sorts of games, its not like they're standard run n gun fps's like cod or bf. kinda like it if they jus kept the dishonored name and mechanics but did a different story and timeline if you know what i mean.
The last DLC kinda sucked but overall an outstanding game. I would like to see more variety in NPC patrols, even on hardest mode the game was still too easy, it took longer to finish but too easy. Also taking the highest routes as often as possible offered no challenge other than to find the path which to me taking high ground became the most obvious, smarter choice but maybe some NPC's on balcony's to spot you and notify authorities of suspicious activity would make one think and pause first before proceeding. I love the hidden rooms but prefer to see more of them for those of us that like to be very thorough.
I loved DisHonored. But, then I'm a huge fan of any game that manages to nail stealth. And DisHonored did get it's stealth right. I own the DLC but still haven't played them. Very interested to see where they go story wise in a sequel.
The game of forever... But I'm taking this with a grain of salt. Getting excited over leaks is never good for my health when they turn out to be false =(
It will have more open world feeling with huge maps in Cryengine. Gameplay will be similar with Lichdom but with guns and magic combined.
There is a "fake cell shader mod" for CE2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixoer3q-REw But Dishonored uses advanced lightning also methods so above video is not representable.
Perfect choice. I hope they use the megatexture technology. Just with a better resolution/less compression. I still love Rage's textures. Dishonored can only benefit from that.
If it's really ID Tech 5 it's most likely OGL. Well, looks like those pictures are fake :/ https://twitter.com/CVG_News/status/441617359493922817
