ASUS Republic of Gamers Announces Maximus IX Extreme

I love it. I already got the Formula, but I love how the market has grown to the point where motherboards as extensive and insane like this exists.

Yeah it's expensive, but it's got everything you'd want from a motherboard like this. The waterblock looks amazing, and the amount of fan headers alone is just perfect. Especially because they're right next to each other.

Also a great idea of them to split the old Extreme motherboards into the Apex and Extreme motherboards. Extreme used to be the overclockers's board, but it got very popular with pc enthousiasts as well. Not a good idea to cater to both in one board.

 

No RGB = DOA

 

The price is just insane. I love the board, I love the monoblock. But like seriously? 619 GBP for a Z270 board? Almost twice the price compared to Formula..

 

Will definitely be considering this as and when my current chip and board goes gaga (still on a Z97 with an oc 4790) still rocking on a mild 4.6 and over 3 years old

 

Like watching naked women but safe for work.

 

My ECS is the fist mobo to come up with Sabre Premiere DAC. Line-in and recording section are decent at most, but still very usable.

OTOH front 2ch stereo is excellent. Even when measured by not-so-great recording section(RMAA)

 

More than 600€ for a Z270 board???

To think i´m gonna spend less than that on a CPU, MB and RAM...

 

So many features I don't give a damn about. Waiting patiently for X300 chipset mobos...
