Thank you Guru3D for doing a sticky on this tread . Now it's official guys we have our own tread where everybody can share , help , post their findings , benchmarks , testing , overclocking results , tweaking , ask questions , anything related to Ryzen and pictures of your Ryzen builds. Everybody is welcome into this tread , as it will be based on the AMD Ryzen community feedback so it will get better as times goes by and we find how to squeezed every bit of performance out of our Ryzen systems

I would ask everybody to keep this tread clean , please no trolling allowed , no discussions Intel versus AMD allowed , other than that let's have fun with this brand new platform.

I have already began today taking apart and disassemble my old rig in preparation for monday morning where i will start assembling my first of two Ryzen builts i'm doing. Let's get started shall we

Exactly what I'm thinking, Hero VI and 1700. Now just have to wait a little bit for the kinks to be ironed out, a couple of bios updates, windows update and the mother of all, your guys' impressions. This waiting is killing me.

Great thread chispy btw, good man.

Great work you did here,Chipsy.
RyZen up!

Is great to see almost all MB have 3200(OC) DRR4 support and updated Bios.

Some info about Ryzen arch.

Thank you for the support and kind words my old friend. eclap i have seen and talked to some of my friends overclockers and indeed they are getting lucky with the R7 1700 65w and great overclocking results , a couple 4.2Ghz stable 24/7 cpus already floating around with the new bios updates on Asus CH 6 hero and DDR4-3600Mhz memory on a beta bios , i was told by Asus that they will improve on memory compatibility , overclocking and stability on the next Bios release , expect new Bios this coming week. Indeed overclocking will improve with newer Bios as you already seen all over the web , it makes a big difference.

Thank you for sharing Turanis.
From what I'm reading, the 1700 also runs cooler than the other 2 Ryzen CPUs, some say by 10C. Sounds promising. Honestly, I'd be happy with 4ghz and 3200mhz ram. That would be quite nice.

damn I cannot stabilize the temps. I have a Corsair H100 and used MX2 as thermal paste. In Windows with light stuff (update and so on) I hit 60C. Is this MX2 **** or what? I'll log off and reseat the pump on the CPU

I'm reading from several sources that treating the 2 CCX as 1 monolith might be one of the major causes of latency and poor gaming performance.
Could any of you lucky ones that are getting the Ryzen test some games with Windows affinity on the last or first 4 cores, and compare if it's actually faster than enabling all 8 cores?
If you know that someone has already tested this, please link

reseat changed the paste with Zalman, the same crap. The temps are read from bios. BUT as I touched the pump and the hose they are COLD. Measured with the IR Thermometer and Show 32C! WTF is this, CPU will downclock I assume?

Load temp looks good. Idle high. They do idle at around 60c with the stock cooler is what I heard. Should be better with your AIO though.

OK UPDATE 1:

- MSI CPU-Z Show all cores in full load @ 3692,5 (3600 is default) -> could be wrong reading.
- MSI CPU-Z Show boost cores in full load @ 4096 (4100 ?) -> could be OK reading.
- 5 Min's PRIME on all 16 threads -> Temp rises towards 68C @ Smart FAN Speed and drops towards 62C @ full speed. During full speed temps also spyke between 58C and 64C, but really spyke!
- Cinebench R15 all core score is 1598 Points
- System is fully stable
- RAM speed is bios defauls 1064,5x2
- Chrystal Diskmark test is perfect fine for my SSD (550/500 read/write)!

still testing and benching and I'll report back the findings but 1 is certain, MSI temp sensor is cracked or it needs a bios update A.S.A.P!

...damn this thing is damn FAST!!!

UPDATE 2:

- Excepting the CPU temp everything looks fine and is ROCK SOLID, no crashes no BSOD no GSOD...
- Looks like the bashed temp reading have no influence on CPU Performance.
- Installing now NFS 2016 and Sandra, I'll post the scores here below:

- Aritmetic: Dhrystone Integer 320 Gips
- Aritmetic: Whetstone 178 Gflops
- Multimedia Int: 310 Mpixel/s
- Multimedia Float: 420,5 Mpixel/s

Looks like Windows 10 Pro very fast parcs 10 of 16 threads, actually during usuall browsing, win update, origin game install... only 6 threads are active ! Never seen that behaviuor with the FX 8350 before!

btw, wtf is AMD Ryzen Master?? I found it installed in Programes and Features, is 1.82 Mb Version 1.0.0.0188

Ryzen Master should be the overclocking/monitoring tool, a bit like Intel XTU, but with an interface similar to the Radeon drivers

Also, Kohlendioxidus
any chance you can bench some games first with 16 threads active, then changing the CPU Affinity from the Task Manager to use only 8 threads and see if there is any difference?
