What cooler upgrade I should invest in?

  1. Upgrade current N520 with a pair of Noctua NF-B9 PWM

First some background i have a P8Z68V-PRO with a 2500K currently cooled by a cooler master N520. It gets okay temps with my current overclock but i want cooler. Okay so I have it down to four options:

Upgrade current N520 with a pair of Noctua NF-B9 PWM
    replace with Noctua NH-D14
Replace with cooler master 612 with a pair of Noctua NF-P12 PWM
Or a Corsair H110 with a pair of Noctua NF-A15 PWM

Let the discussion begin and if y'all have a better sugeation let me know. I would really like to go full H2O but that's a bit steep with needing two gpu blocks a CPU block and at least two 240 rads with pump couplers and a ressivor.

I went from NH-D14 to H100i with quad NF-F12s. Dropped load temps by 15 degrees.

To OP not sure you can put 120mm fans on that 140mm rad on the H110.

I'm also very happy with my H100 with quad NF-F12's but it's a very pricey setup when you add the fans to the cost of the cooler in the first place.

I would go with the H110, and if it's not up to snuff get the Noctua fans.

I agree with hallryu, for the price of the H100 and quad fans, you could build a custom loop.

EDIT: Just noticed your case would be able to hold a dual 120mm rad inside. If that's where to plan to mount it, then i would go with the H100i.

I'll edit that to NF-A15 PWMs

@hallryu is there any gains to be ad from deliding the 2500K?

why dont you go with h110 or kraken x60 with noctua a14 flxs wich are basecly the same but not pwm and are adequite for 140mm radiator? I think you dont need pwm because they are 19db only at full and come with low noise adaptors!

I wouldnt spend too much on a cooler. maybe $70 max. SB runs pretty cool and no hyperthreading= about 7-10c cooler per core vs hyperthreading in p95. you are at a low voltage as well. In my testing at least

I'm wanting to go to 4.7-4.8 and my temps are hitting low 80's in prime I don't like that.

    Thank you.

When it comes to things like the H100/110', especially when you start adding the costs of better fans I'd rather just spend the extra and go for a custom loop. At least then you can extend it to your GPU's down the line while getting better performance. Otherwise just stick to a decent air cooler in my opinion.

Yes you can Delid a 2500k. Not worth the risk for the gain on it. Requires inserting razors under the lid 4mm on each side then holding it upside down and heating it with a lighter. If done correctly the top will fall off.

I'll also vouch for the Noctua's. I've used both nf-p14 flx (the 140mm that fits a 120mm space) and the nf-f12's. both in a push pull on my kuhler 620's. nf-12's worked a lot better because of the static pressure on them. I saw almost a 20c drop at full load with the fan upgrade and moving to liquid ultra over the stock fans and tim.
