Hi, I just bought new HGST Ultrastar 7k4000 2x4TB and I'd like to examine them precisely before using. What applications should I use for reliable testing?
hd sentinel I just use Aida 64 these days seeing it show reliability like hd sentinel it just goes in to more detail then Aida 64
I personally use HD Tune and HDD Tach,Aida64 is good too,but usually those two first one I use most of the time and no issues Hope this helps Thanks,Jura
I have installed HD Tune and HD Sentinel. I can't find any way to make a test in the latter one (suppost to be a surface test?). Any help? I have a trial version obviously. Update: The same question about CrystalDiskInfo. What to choose to conduct a health test?
HDD Sentinel performs a check when it loads, if it doesn't report any problems in any of the tabs, your disks are likely fine Here's the Pro one registered, from a previous giveaway of the day Code: https://mega.nz/#!iN51hB6a!dMjZLTs6XAR86Tej2NmHqLRMU5yBH2po7tGQ_RkBE70 Don't update it or you'll lose the license
Is every third-party app based on SMART? Can't they perform own tests? Thank you for a link. I assume it's fine: http://www.hdsentinel.com/storagein...6G6464T8C7GC8C8TAI5044&seek=11.38x13.62x12.50 Not sure how it would look like if wouldn't. 90% or lower health probably.
Spinrite likely doesn't use SMART https://www.grc.com/spinrite.htm Not sure how useful it will be for your needs though Defect detection https://www.grc.com/sranalysis.htm
Hi there Try free HDD Scan if you are think have defective HDD http://hddscan.com Hope this helps Thanks,Jura
