HTC became in the 2015 one of the worst smartphones maker, A9 and M9 are a disaster, they is zero reason to buy them where there are many better alternatives.
looks wise, build quality and UI, M9 is better than the S6... If I were on a lookout for a new phone (now) it would be an Iphone 6s or an m9
Was before Apple if they were not the first. Other than that, it has round edges which some people think Apple has patented and is the only one allowed to use those. In iPhone6 the logo is not the same location as in HTC, camera is not at the same location, front of the phone doesnt look the same, there are other colors available, hardware is not the same, software is not the same... Clearly this is an iPhone copy.
that would be you, that fine your choice, i had G4 which easily demolishes HTC in all but build quality and sound quality, G4 camera is light years ahead of poor M9... but the G4 gaming performance are really bad for a flagship. I bought then the Note 5, and that is the best phone i ever used or touched, performance are light years ahead of G4, display is awesome, camera is about the same as G4, sounds is far far better, and S Pen is awesome I do like HTC build quality and speakers.
HTC one M7 is a pretty great phone for the low-mid end users though. Only small backside is the purplish tint on low light photos.
If you want a real phone go buy a Nexus 6. Dual front speakers, 6" display, pure google, great camera, fast phone, great display. It's all around great. I'd like to know how the Nexus 6P turns out.
Im still riding my ol' Z Ultra. I used to be all about HTC but when i tred Sony, man, that is something else.....
Not really sure what any of the hate is for HTC. I have an HTC One M8 for Windows and it is the best smartphone I have owned yet. Lots of storage, excellent speakers, ok camera, 2 days of battery life with constant usage. Also, micro sd card expansion slot as well and a 5 inch, 1080p screen.
I actually like HTC and think they make quality products... However, I must admit they are overpriced for what they are. Screen is average and so is the camera. There are many other Android devices having better quality screens and cameras that cost less...
they cant all be winners, htc and other companies are suffering due to Samsung/apple dominance, lg is barely surviving, the ones you see "succeeding" are just competing for another market, not the elite apple/Samsung thing I think apple is the one copying here, but does it matter really? they are all copying each other nowadays in my opinion, there aren't many ways you can design a box to hold a 16:9 screen, I don't see anyone criticizing lg for copying Samsung's tv designs, do you?
I totally agree with you EspHack! There ins´t a lot of things people can do in terms of designing a product that needs to use a very specific shape like cell phones! You can move the speakers left or right, put some buttons in the bottom or top but in the end all phones have to look the same if they want to offer similar experiences! The problem here is brand perception, if someone copys Apple, it´s because they´re garbage and can´t do anything on their own, if Apple copys others, it´s okay, they´re "innovating", just like the Ipad pro... In this case, for example, i even think that it was Apple that copied HTC. In the end, everyone copies everyone when the idea is good.
HTC phones are great. I've owned three including my current M8. Wait until Apple gets into the TV business or heaven forbid the auto business. "Your cars have 4 wheels, you're copying us!"
