There wasn't much direction for installation. This file type goes here and that file type goes there. I unzipped the files to there new home. Then I tried to play a LAN game of a new map. Guess what it crashed!!! <IMG SRC="smileys/eek.gif"> OK i did it again, same result. Well I tried a different map LAN game. It worked...well the game loaded anyway! OK It is just my maps I thought. I can still play online. So I then tried that. Well T2 locked my whole computer. Well now what. Reinstall??? yea I try that now. Well after reinstall to play online I have to use sierra's FRIGGING online update!!!! Well NOW guess what!!! It wont update properly. <IMG SRC="smileys/evil.gif"> That is horse crap! Why cant I just download the latest update and install it at my leasure. That way I dont have to update it everytime I have to reinstall. This is why I shouldn't waste my money purchasing retail. This is why me and millions of others burn copies of software. If the product was really trouble free it would be worth the money. But is not. <br> <br> I havent taken the time to find out if anyone else is having problems with T2. I do remember though the lousy support SIERRA had when I first installed it and it didnt work. I found information from another website that was NOT SIERRA'a or DYNAMIX's. Once again if thay want money for their software in this day and age it is about support NOT the actual program. I can copy anything or you can get it from someone, but I paid my 39.95 for the damn thing so I would have my own copy and get the support I need. Well I am seriously dissappointed. Yes it is a good game...though a steep learning curve. But I have to disagree with MANTIS, it is for people with broadband. In fact if you want a FPS to play online then you need to have broadband if you want to do more then just wait to get shot.<br> <br> I don't know guys I am venting... anyone else have probs with Tribes 2???<br> <br>
I've had no problems with T2 using Win98se. I did have problems updating with Win2K.<br> When you update, T2 puts the actual patches on your hard drive in the <b>C:\Dynamix\Tribes2\GameData\patch </b> directory. Also, the Auto Update patch stays in the <b>C:\Dynamix\Tribes2\GameData\_SierraUpdatePatch </b> directory. Both files stay until you manually delete them. Even if you uninstall the game the patches stay. So, update everything from those files and not from the Auto Updater.<br><br><i>This message was edited by =MANTIS= on 06 Sep 2001 03:47 PM</i>

My LAN game T2 still locks up!!!! ARG. I can ONLY play online for T2 to work. Guess I get to uninstall and reinstall AGAIN!
I'm guessing you are "Hosting" a LAN game for yourself to practice with bots.<br> I have no idea why it wouldn't work if you are able to get online.
