I wonder what they do now that their reference card boxes can't have PCI-E logo... :eyebrows:

Hey.,. well I bought a Powercolor 480 8gb. Already have NV just wanted to have AMD also.

I did have one problem with the Powercolor this is why I am posting. I didnt think this still happened. The heatsink was not sitting on the GPU. There was nothing I could do. It would not go down any more. Since it was new I'm just getting it replaced. So might be something to look at..

And even with it NOT touching the GPU it still never overheated. It did hit 81c one time thats when I thought.. something was up and looked at the card.

I did read here that Powercolor is going to put out a unlocked bios for this card so that will be nice.

Well, managed to get my hands on a MSI 8GB with the better cooler, although I'll still change it to a Arctic Cooler S3, I bet I can cool it more quietly with it.

Card is surprising big, and at times the power usage is quite high..sadly.

XFX rx480 What is that little switch next to the 8-pin power?

Received my XFX RX480 8gb (RX-480P8DFA6). A fine looking card. I bumped the idle fan rpm from the stock '0'
to 50% for now. At '0' idle was around 53°c. Now gpu-z reports idle @ 31 to 33.0°c, room ambient approx 79°f.

Ran witcher3 as a test, graphics seems more crisp and detailed as compared to the sapph HD7950 Flex.
    I didn't expect that. Ran Heaven, 3dMark06, 3dMark AE, Cinebench_R15.

Been using driver 16.7.3 for Win8.1x64 and Win10Prox64. Tried the hotfix 16.8.2 drivers
but they caused lag/refresh issues or something. Started getting eye-aches near right away.
So uninstalled with Amd Inst Manager and also DDU; re-installed 16.7.3. All is good now.

What is that little switch next to the 8-pin power? Any of you guys know?
I'm thinking a backup bios switch?

Odd, I see at NewEgg XFX already has a different looking version of my card.
Guess my card is already obsolete-heh.
