seems like maya is sluggish after installing softquadro patch...

I'll do some benchmarkin see if this is true..
Well strike that, it's .45 fps faster.. hmm, guess Softquadro helps Max more then it helps Maya

now just have to figure out why Maxtreme won't work..

did a specviewperf test, and it's actually 9 fps faster using Softquadro with hardware lines turned on.. nice...
around 20 fps slower in quake tho.. hmm.. I think I'll take the 9fps increase...
SQ allows to use overlays in Maya
Probably NV had implemented SQ antiprotection in MAXtreme too as they did it in the Det 14.40+ OpenGL driver.
please keep in mind that enabling overlays after you patch the drivers will make maya (and i'm assuming other open gl apps) much much slower.... with overlays, in an empty scene of maya it does an average of 25-30 fps..

with overlays disabled, it does 80-85 fps.

also, if you are using Maya 4 (the latest version), disable overlays because it has been rewritten to not use overlays... older versions improved a lot, but not version 4.
