EVGA GeForce GTX 680 FTW+ LE 1006 4GB

  1. Hey guys. Been looking at getting a pair of GTX680 4gb cards. There is tonnes of different options. The EVGA GeForce GTX 680 FTW+ LE 1006 4GB seems to be more $$ than the EVGA GeForce GTX 680 FTW 4GB, even though it has lower clock speeds. So what makes this card different? everything cosmetically is the same....rather confusing. Plus I've read it doesn't OC well

get the cheaper one there both good cards, if you want a monster overclocker the classified are great but a bit pricey evga are good for rma and warranty

  3. i wouldnt mind the classified, but to be honest im not really a big gamer, so OCing isnt really a big big issue. They'll be H2O, so I guess abit of OC will be worth the money spent on the H2O

If your going H2O get the cheapest of the 680's evga offers then mod the BIOS and have fun.

  5. Mod the BIOS? Whats that gonba do, sounds really risky. I believe that im limited in terms of OC because of the extra VRAM. But I might read up about this bios option you speak of.

In your case it just unlocks the voltage to the hardware limit of 1.21v it's limited to 1.17V via BIOS on air it also unlock 100%fan speed and it unlocks 150% power limit. It's really easy.

I did this last week with the help of ---TK ---- who kindly told me step by step how to do it. It was in fact, very easy and now I can have 100% fans, max voltage and a nice constant 1215 stable on core and 500+ offset on memory.

I have the EVGA 680 FTW 4GB+ by the way in SLI. You will get higher oc on 1 card.

I ran heaven while at was at work and gpu1 was pegged at 1228 most of that 11hr run. I hit a max of 75c yikes. the other card was at 1280 throughout and 68c

Did you hit 80F up there today? Cause that was how hot it was Sunday when mine hit its throttle point. I'm really entertaining the thought of H2O.

  11. Could I OC one card, take it out and OC the other to get better clocks, than add both? Ill see what -TK- says about it, im abit of a noob when it comes to software related tweaks. Wonder if a PCB voltage mod is better? Cos I wont need the 100% fan unlock.

individually your cards seperatly will prob have a higher clock than 2 cards in sli. it wont be much higher but theres a good chance you would have to lower the oc slightly in sli
