Yup, bad rain! 2 feet of water in my basement. Boo!!!! anyone else in the Toledo area or South East Michigan get some rain in their basement?
Man ,that sucks! Hope that your insurance covers it and that your are safe and sound. And your computers are away from water.
Thanks! Doesn't look like I'll have to get insurance involved so far, everything is up off the ground, don't have carpet down there so I'm going to do some heavy bleaching tonight! Only thing that concerned me was the water heater. Water got in there, but I shot off the gas line and took it out and dried it out completely. Thankfully got it recovered and hooked it back up, and started up good as new! Storm sewers were backed up in Toledo, so it actually came through the storm drain due to all the rain here. This has made me realize I need the foundation looked at. I know there are cracks in it, but a good portion of the water came through the foundation too. Have to get that foundation reservoir system put in. Also going to look into getting a new sub pump.
Congratulations on the new pool. Joking aside, I hope you get it sorted. I had a disaster with a leak in an old flat of mine. I had an older gentleman living above me who required constant care, he had people going back and forth every day to help him out. One of the girls was in a rush one day and decided to put him to bed early, but forgot to turn the tap off in the sink which was full of dishes. I ended up having to get the ceilings in my kitchen and lounge re-plastered, as well as redecorate both rooms. Pain in the ass.
Sucks. Ive had it happen twice in my current house. Next house will be on a hill with a passive foundation drain. Brave man...
