juang3d, are you so rich to visit their meetings? Sounds you have a fully licensed 3dsmax, cause with pirate users they even don't negotiate... Anyway, Envies would be very embarrassed when we finally complete our work... and invent something new So, keep testing... currently good 8800GT with 1024MB DDR3 costs less than $200 - that should be nice to unlock it.

Yes, you are right, i have all my licenses up to date, that's the reason why i am so upset with envy, hehehe, if i was using a pirate version i'll not cry about the money i have to spent in my comps and my licenses hehehe, this work is not cheap, i can understand that...but i can understand that when the companys are playing a clean game, not the game that envy and ati/amd are playing with us

i'm sure that envy will be embarrassed with all unlocked hehe

Ah, one more thing, i'm not so rich, but in spain we have (the 3d world people) one meeting per year, when autodesk launch the new version of 3dsmax and maya, this is the moment when they try to sell us the Quadro hehe, but when they talk you see all the people whispering and laughting because nearly no one belives what the PNY/Nvidia guy says.

I'll buy Quadro when they put a good pricing, 600$ or even 800$, and the geforce 300$, then i can think in buying quadro graphics board, i understand that this is a game and they cannot put quadros at the same price of geforce, but 3000$...for a card that i'll use as my first card only two or three years (because in two or three years you have the new gaming card that ****s up the older quadro, like the 8800gtx vs quadro 3600,the geforce 6800, i think is quadro 3600, i cannot remember exactly).

Then my conclusion is the same that in my last post, at present time quadro pricing and envy marketing and pricing system are CRAP.

unfortunately i have to leave now for some time, i tried playing with bios bootstrapping. It seams i cannot flash a modified strap sequence in bios. Something seems to be blocking it (me not understanding ) and it reports 0610 which is the hardwired id. I could only flash kubato's 3700 bios, but this strap gave id 0612. I also played with some resistors, based from pictures found on the web. Under the core at the back side of the pcb there were 3 resistors missing from the 8800gt and the 3700 picture has them (i think). When soldering resistors there, the vanilla 169.96 opengl driver jams at specview (3dsmax test jams at the scene with the palm tree and maya test jams at the werewolf). It's almost the same behaviour with the modded driver. So, one or some of these must be responsible for the configuration of the gl capabilities reported ??
What is the hardwired id for 3700? if some of my assumptions are correct then it should be 0618. Is there anyone with a quadro 3700 to send a rivatuner report and some high-res pictures?

did anyone tried opengl capabilities of the latest patch

so is firegl softmod better for opengl than quadro softmod

I have a 8600 gt and I might try to rma it with a hd2600xt x1950 or hd3850

 

I want to make the nvstrap work on my 8800GT under Vista x64. im not looking for performance but a soft i uses needs Quadro drivers to work 100%

Does your script work under Vista x64? if not how much job is it for you to rewrite it?

do you think your script would be capable to softmod a gf6800 to quadro (yes i know is a bit old..but i need stable Ogl) enabling all pro features (as i'm doing with complete success in winxp32?) i'm thinking to upgrade components and SO - vista64, but i need to know if i will have to worry about the graphic card too

I can make a so-called "fakemod" for Vista, but it will only work with D3D not OpenGL. OpenGL unfortunately is locked - that's why I went with FireGL.

the counterpart for this is that the opengl, as far as i know, will be completly disabled, i mean that when you try to run something that uses opengl it will go at 2fps or something like that (with the trick i mean)

 

for Vista drivers:
try to rename nvlddmkm.sys TO nv4_mini.sys than patch it and rename back to nvlddmkm.sys

Realy interesting discussion and experiements.

Last week a bought a XFX 9600 GSO graphiccard, with the hope to modify this card to a quadro FX 3700. ( I toke a look to the nvdisp.inf, from the newest quadro driver and the GPU 92 is used for the FX 3700 and also for the Geforce 9600 )
But its not possible ( with the common methode with Riva Tuner ), so my hope ist gone, but now i am reading this thread, and my hope comes back.

Gellmar, how is it going, do you have more experiences now, perhaps with new Geforces, The GPU of this card ist the G92 Id 06101A ist your script able to unlock this card, I need only the DirectX function. Runs perfect under Max OpenGL in Max is abig mess so directx is the best way.

And if its possible , how should I install this script, sorry for that question but, i am absolutely not a coder.

everything here makes perfect sense to me... but i dont know how to start exactly.... i am runing vista 64...GtX8800@Quadro4600 (178.46) ... Riva Tuner 2.20...

i mainly want to run 3dsmax2009 with maxtreme 11...

how can i patch the nv4_mini.sys in vista64 (nvlddmkm.sys in vista) and should be b4 or after install and how exactly....

the NVSoftQuadroX.rth doesnt exist in riva tuner

i would be very greatfull if someone can post a detailed step by step for this geniuses NVSoftQuadroX...
