    Hi,

I recently had to set up my university-server as a proxy to access our database/paper search engine. Afterwards, I returned to the options menu and put the option back to "Directly connect to the internet". Nonetheless, when i wanna watch a video (like on putfile.org) or access certain sites, I am now asked for my university log-in. When I cancel the login, I cannot download the file. And even when I enter the id/pw, sometimes it doesn't help. How can I get rid of it?
    Cheers!

Did you remove the proxy before putting it on "Directly connect" ?.

Also look in the config (use about:config) and filter for proxy to see if the default settings are back...if not right click and use reset.

If that don't help try adding the proxy to the "No proxy for".

You can also keep seperate profiles, if you are having problems with proxy settings
