Crashes to desktop after the machine games logo .. wtf edit: it's afterburner. exiting AB solved it. smooth performance, etc.
Wow, ANOTHER Wofenstein? I'm yet to play Wolfenstein: The New Order... My brother bought me ''The New Order'' last near for my birthday. The game has not even been opened. The packaging is still intact and the game is still a virgin! Reason for not playing the game. I'm using a single GTX 580 and maxing the game is a no go. Shortly I'll upgrade to a GTX 970 which should allow me to max the game at 1080P and enjoy it's visuals to the max...
From what I've read the game has eight chapters so half the amount of what New Order had but it's reflected in the games lower price and it should still be a fun shooter.
Before we go further.. Can i kindly request spoilers in either tag format or a bold "Spoiler" before your actual post. Id like to keep the info i plan on absorbing all night untill pay day to be limited to performance info. Thanks if you can..
MegaTexture technology I guess. EDIT: Yeah it's a 34.4 GB download and the texture folder is nearly 31 GB on it's own.
I cant get afterburner to show stats in the game. added the exe and everything and still dont show. edit: anyway. using fraps just to see fps. testing the game in windows 10 and set everything to ultra and got opengl error saying it requested more memory then available in the system.
Yeah the OSD won't show up, screenshots work though but I don't know what the issue is with the OSD not displaying. (Probably something Alexander will have to investigate himself.) EDIT: Graphics settings. Ultra preset sets MSAA to 8x but it's a bit much for the CCC settings I use so I keep it at 2x and then for screenshots you can use up to 64x AA via the console prompt. Ultra also keeps PPF at 32 whereas the max is 64 though that's probably only for faster CPU's as to avoid stuttering but they also have support for CUDA decoding which should really help for those using Nvidia GPU's Shadow quality is also 4096 on Ultra but it goes up to 8192 and screen space reflections are set to medium but there's a high quality too but this was pretty demanding in New Order so it's probably the same here. EDIT: Same tweaks as in New Order works here too. (In test.cfg in the base folder and then in-game bring down the console and use "exec test.cfg" as the cvar.) (r_mode should probably be set to whatever your own screen res is and the compression settings can be further tweaked but disabling all of them really pushes RAM and VRAM usage so it's best to try and keep it somewhat balanced and finally the image lodbias setting can be set to negative but it can also greatly increase shimmering.)
oh come on really? tested both in windows 10 and windows 8.1 I cant run the game at ultra it crashes saying there wasnt enough memory. driver error on nvidia site says related to gpu running out of memory.. :bang:
on TNO i got 60fps with gtx560Ti the game is not in anyway demanding and it ran as flawless as could be
