This news is from May. What's it doing in the NV driver forum?

DP HBR3 is essentially DP 1.3 spec. 4K@120Hz in 24 bit color require ~24,89Gbit/s of bandwidth and the DP 1.3 spec tops out on 25,92 Gbit/s. So - unlikely, we'll have to wait for DP 1.4 implementations for this to become possible with just one DP port/cable. It should be able to run HDR in something less though, like 96Hz or 100Hz.

Did you even read the article? It says clearly :

"DisplayPort HBR3 allows total bandwidth data transfers up to 32.4Gbps (4 lanes@8.1Gbps), which is a huge increase over DisplayPort HBR2."

Blah, you're right, HBR3 is the same mode for DP 1.4 as well so the maximum rate is indeed 32.4Gpbs. So it should be possible to be able to fit HDR10/12 in 4K@120Hz.

    No you were right before.

After overhead losses, total bandwidth is 25.92gbps

1.4 is already created, it adds "visually lossless compression".

Really wish the TV industry would wake up and use DP and ditch HDMI.

Realtek really needs to update their site. Like bad. How can it still look like that?
