I'm looking at an ASUS card at the moment: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01IPVTHL8 ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Turbo Edition 4K & VR Ready Dual HDMI 2.0 DP 1.4 Graphic Card (TURBO-GTX1070-8G) Price: $370 USD and free shipping Mainly, I want to know, is the price good? Or should I wait until Cyber Monday until I purchase? Do you think prices will get lower? As far as I know it defaults to stock speeds and can be OC'd a little bit. Also, I like the blower design because my 560 has the same, and although it can get rather loud, it hasn't failed me. So I feel as though it's a reliable design. If your fan expertise is better and you think I'm wrong about this, let me know. Lastly, (for anyone who might own this model), does this use the bugged Micron RAM, and does it suffer from coil whine? Thanks for any help.
I have no issues with my ASUS Strix 1070 OC. Temps are cool and the fans are pretty quiet at 50%. Performing the same or better than the EVGA 1070 FTW I returned.
Welp, I stuck with Asus brand but went with this instead: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814126119 1 x ($394.99) ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 DUAL-GTX1070-O8G 8GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card Card length is shorter and that was a factor, but also this is clocked higher from the factory, and it comes with a $30 rebate card. I also got free 3-day shipping, so I'm guessing there won't be too many deals this good in the coming days. I think I'll be happy! BTW the card is this price (you also get the rebate offer) at newegg (possibly elsewhere) until Tuesday. P.S. The other card has gone up $50 today I just noticed.
