Default Screen goes black/scrambled on streaming video files? - 07-21-2012, 18:28 | posts: 11

Hello,

I'm using the 12.7 (June 26 Beta).

HD 7770

ASUSVH236H via HDMI Port

More than half the time (probably around 80%), it seems that my drivers crash when I play a youtube file/stream a video on facebook/ or even have a streaming ad play. I have to put my computer to sleep and then it will be fine again and I can play the file until maybe an hour later (or even the next video), it'll have the same issue.

Is this a common driver issue?

may not really help you, but the 12.7 seems to be a pretty bad driver for the 7700 and 7800 series. I have a 7850 and also a lot of Problems with it. Just test 12.4 should be working much better.

I have the same problem with 12.7. After playing a video on a web site my second monitor will display a whole bunch of horizontal lines. Eventually my primary monitor where the video is playing goes into spasms. I have to reboot my machine.

typical issue with the drivers after 12.4. In a german forum i found a whole topic about that issues. You should also report that issue to AMD so it hopefully gets fixed in the next version www.amd.com/report

If the Problem is brother you switch back to the 12.4 it doesnt have that issue.

Filed a report to AMD. I didn't have this problem when I was running 12.6.
