    Hi guys,
    I am new to this forum I was just wanting to ask a general question related to the RAM that I have in my system. I have 6GB total RAM, however I would like to upgrade to 12GB, the questions I have are what RAM should I purchase to supplement the RAM I have or should I purchase 12GB of new ram at a different frequency.

    I used AIDA64 to get this information. I have;

    3x2GB @ 1066 MHz

    Well that is what it shows in the DMI menu.
    Yet when I go to the overclock menu it shows;

    DIMM1: 2 GB DDR3-1333 DDR3 SDRAM (8-8-8-22 @ 609 MHz) (7-7-7-20 @ 533 MHz) (6-6-6-17 @ 457 MHz)

    Now I have tried to research what all this means, however it seems a little above my skill level. Could someone please help me out in explaining what sort of RAM I should purchase.
    Thanks in advance

    Best thing to do is shut down your PC, open the case, take out a stick of RAM and google the product code off the label on it. That way you will find out exactly what kind of RAM it is and you can just buy the same stuff.
