Considering the $99 fire. All I really want to do is read e-books, my PDF magazine collection and play chess games. Is the 6" big enough to read on? Or is the HDX higher resolution make it more worthy? Or do you recommend some other android tablet? I want a good user experience so am a little leery about cheap tablets.
I'd go for a 7" tablet at least. If you're going to play any kind of games, it's easier on a larger screen. The 6" tablet is just fine for reading though.
Chess would probably be the only casual game I'd play on it. I typically don't play much on tablets as I have a PS4 and PC. I am concerned about reading e-magazines more so than the Kindle books. I also have a lot of scanned PDF mags which might be harder to read.
Found a good deal on QVC so got it instead http://www.qvc.com/Kindle-Fire-HDX-...tml?orderId=198588367&itemId=221244478&sc=CRT
There is also the Amazon Kindle, heard good things about them. Different sizes are available, from 6'' to 9''. Prices start from $79 for the basic model and $229 for the larger better model. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias=aps&field-keywords=kindle
Kindle and kindle fire are different things, one is an e-reader and one is a tablet. Kindle isn't really be suitable for reading pdfs, only ebook formats.
