Agreed. If their game idea was any good (star citizen included) then why crowd source when their are plenty of banks and venture capitalist firms out there? Oh yeah, because crowd sourcing is free money you never pay back.
Interest free, yes, and you can see how big the market is and how many 100% customers you get, as well as a peak on how many potentional customers you get.
I agree with everything you say, zero day DLC is a RIP OFF just makes me feel like ffs they want more money for this crap WTF is going on .. if you have been a gamer for over 30 years you easily see through this con .. but with the rise of the spoiled kid console crowd they will buy any crap at any cost and the publishers know it. but hey its the new trend and everyone wants to be trendy lol :/ when I was a child I used to play war over the woods and use a stick for my gun the same as the other kids, in them days money was very hard to find, these days even with a world wide recession the lust for profits seem to take front line and they still want to get every penny they can out of there customers .. its just greed in my books, charge more money for less ....
The Season Pass is another way to charge money for content that should be free. Considering the price you pay for a video game, paying £20 extra is a slap in the face. Look at how much a movie costs to make, do you see the director charging extra to see the directors cut with add footage not available in the original? No you do not. Gaming is a big rip off now.
Still you sell the product, so you give away something, no? Don't the crowdfunders get the game, or did I get something wrong there? If not, anybody giving money there should not be allowed to cross the road on their own...
There have been cases where Crowdfunded games haven't managed to be finished due to limited funds. Everyone should get a refund if that happens. Even so there is no guarantee the game you funded is even going to be any good, could be horrible.
