People upgrading in 2016, what device will you be getting?

i just received my Xiaomi Mi 5 for 350£ ... and i must say... worth.
2 day battery runtime even with intense use.
the camera's image quality... incredible (16MP).
and it's pretty pretty fast.
imho best you can get right now and even beats more expensive phones.

 

I'm about to buy a slightly used Xiaomi Mi 4i, it costs the same as a new Redmi 3.

I'm having doubts about it, Mi 4i does have a nice 1080p screen and i think it's a little bit faster but their quiet old as in 2014.

The Redmi 3 would ship from China and the Mi 4i i can buy locally.

 

Yes it does! I wonder why no one bothers with Xenon flash? Back in the day many Nokia devices and even LG and Sony Ericsson had Xenon flash. It was normal back then...

Yep it is good, shame no one went insane with camera like nokia, everyone playing way too safe.

Samsung need to trim down touchwiz a bit more, and they already have best camera, they should make camera edition with even better lenses dual camera mode- 23+MP for day and 16MP for night with f1.4-f1.5 larger pixels, dual pixel tech and bigger sensor.

 

Yes, hopefully. I'm curious to see how the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is gonna perform in the camera department!

In the process of sending my Nexus 5X back, its constantly freezing and rebooting itself. Must be a hardware issue.

I love it. Tbh I've never owned a flagship phone so I don't know about comparissons . But am totally glad I got it.

Camera quality is amazing.
Sound quality from its speaker is just awesome.
Gaming is maxed out.

I can't recommend it enough.

Just thought of a negative.
I would get a good armourd case for it as the phone feels like it can slip out of a hand. Although mine didn't slip, I was always scared it would.
Other than that its a fantastic phone.

 

Yeah, and it actually looks good for a rugged device! That said, I bet it's gonna cost a LOT!

 

So am either getting a oneplus3 or the moto g4 plus or maybe the leeco le max2 or something from Xiomi..

Moto g4 plus looks good but apparently overheats but that's in pretty stressful scanarios and Oneplus has never been noted for cameras apparently.

Am mainly after something that does good close up filming.

Well I went for a moto g4 plus because think the camera looks decent and for near £200 it wont break the bank.

16gb will go fast but can get some extra storage.

Got it today and already did a vid. Came out great and the audio is so much better! I think the camera is pretty decent so far...other than that rest of the phone seems good as well.

Nothing amazing but for the price I think it's good.

Xperia are dead line, nothing going right for them.

As of now, Note 7 seems to be the most interesting device, hopefully with dual camera and iris scanner, the leaks confirm that too, though if it's 5.8 dual curved screen, that's a big bummer which means screen effectively will be around 5.3 inch.

 

Easy. Xperia X are NOT flagship smartphones but more mid range!

Xperia Z5 is better and it's old...

Perhaps later in the year Sony will announce and shortly after release their high end flagship devices...

Well not really that convinced yet, but as my Nexus 5 (from 2013) died because I meant I could replace the battery, I have ordered a LG G5 to arrive next week...

 

My LG G4 died yesterday. Was browsing the guru forums when the phone froze. Hard lock. So I powered it down. When I powered on, it got as far as LG logo and rebooted. Infinitely.

So yeah, I have a bootloop issue that is common on these phones. LG have acknowledged the issue and are offering free repairs/replacements. So my G4 is going off to LG tomorrow.

Today I upgraded early to the Galaxy S7. The early upgrade fee was £165 but I can easily sell the G4, when it comes back, to CEX for £110 or sell it for more on Gumtree/eBay. So the upgrade won't cost me much.

So yeah, back to the Samsung club again. Will not go with LG again, unless they pull an utter masterpiece.

 

i have the S7 Edge, easily the best phone out there and the best one i ever owned, shame sammy throttle it on purpose when gaming, so gaming performance are poor, not all games but some, however nothing that root can't solve
