I did a small run of Viewperf with the drivers listed on the Quadro pages (28.84) and the 'normal' Detonator XP drivers. What I found is that performance is the same with both, so these 'Quadro' drivers seem to be the same as normal Detonator drivers, maybe with some extra testing from NVidia's side in regards to Quadro features.

    Here are the numbers:

Detonator XP 29.42 / GF3TI500 / NVStrapped to Quadro DCC:

    ---------- SUM_RESULTS\AWADVS\SUMMARY.TXT
    AWadvs-04 Weighted Geometric Mean = 243.1

    ---------- SUM_RESULTS\DRV\SUMMARY.TXT
    DRV-07 Weighted Geometric Mean = 42.94

    ---------- SUM_RESULTS\DX\SUMMARY.TXT
    DX-06 Weighted Geometric Mean = 55.75

    ---------- SUM_RESULTS\LIGHT\SUMMARY.TXT
    Light-04 Weighted Geometric Mean = 14.30

    ---------- SUM_RESULTS\MEDMCAD\SUMMARY.TXT
    MedMCAD-01 Weighted Geometric Mean = 50.76

    ---------- SUM_RESULTS\PROCDRS\SUMMARY.TXT
    ProCDRS-03 Weighted Geometric Mean = 18.76

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

'Quadro' Driver 28.84 / GF3TI500 / NVStrapped to Quadro DCC:

    ---------- SUM_RESULTS\AWADVS\SUMMARY.TXT
    AWadvs-04 Weighted Geometric Mean = 242.5

    ---------- SUM_RESULTS\DRV\SUMMARY.TXT
    DRV-07 Weighted Geometric Mean = 42.62

    ---------- SUM_RESULTS\DX\SUMMARY.TXT
    DX-06 Weighted Geometric Mean = 55.60

    ---------- SUM_RESULTS\LIGHT\SUMMARY.TXT
    Light-04 Weighted Geometric Mean = 14.35

    ---------- SUM_RESULTS\MEDMCAD\SUMMARY.TXT
    MedMCAD-01 Weighted Geometric Mean = 50.73

    ---------- SUM_RESULTS\PROCDRS\SUMMARY.TXT
    ProCDRS-03 Weighted Geometric Mean = 18.76

I think the differences in numbers are small enough to just ignore them. Conclusion: Use Detonator drivers, they are usually newer and performance is the same.

When the Detonator 30.30's arived and then using RivaTuners awsome new tweak NVStrap driver, it works perfectly. Tho the SBA doesnt, but I hacked my BIOS to get it on once and it just made the computer crash every 5 min.
Any how first thing I noticed overall about the 30.30's was the clearer picture and much more quality in the textures using the exact same settings as prior versions. Doing my Unreal Tournament detonator test, (a time demo of the opening sceene) there was about 2 FPS more then older versions.

BUT Heres the biggie: I didnt notice this for a few days, but it makes a big impact in the quality (without loss of performance) of using OpenGL in 16 bpp color mode. Its been a well know problem that playing UT with OpenGL in 16bit color you will get some textures that flicker while being half invisibile... it just doesnt look good. Some people cant stand that. I would rather have the extra FPS myself :) And the easy fix would be to change to 32bpp color mode and no more problem. Now with the 30.30's and having my ASUS GeForce2 MX-400 64MB 4x AGP card installed on winXP Pro as a Quadro2 MXR/EX AND the setting "Enable Overlays" fixed the texture problem all together! Now its like playing in 32bit color perfectly!

BTW: I run my own UT clan and its the only real game I care about :) I get appx 60 FPS min, 140 FPS max, and 82 FPS avg on medium detail, 1024x768x16.
Now for UT2003 well ... around 20-50 FPS on avg at medium detail at 800x600

    Hey There !

    I'm New to this forum...

I'v seen outstanding resoults of SPECviewperf 6.1.2 published here, and I cant get anywere near that... I'm using v30.82 NVStrapped to QuadroDCC, my XP Pro recognises my gf3ti500 as Quadro DCC and my resoults are:

    ---------- SUM_RESULTS\AWADVS\SUMMARY.TXT
    AWadvs-04 Weighted Geometric Mean = 36.42

    ---------- SUM_RESULTS\DRV\SUMMARY.TXT
    DRV-07 Weighted Geometric Mean = 9.114

    ---------- SUM_RESULTS\DX\SUMMARY.TXT
    DX-06 Weighted Geometric Mean = 12.72

    ---------- SUM_RESULTS\LIGHT\SUMMARY.TXT
    Light-04 Weighted Geometric Mean = 2.875

    ---------- SUM_RESULTS\MEDMCAD\SUMMARY.TXT
    MedMCAD-01 Weighted Geometric Mean = 13.42

    ---------- SUM_RESULTS\PROCDRS\SUMMARY.TXT
    ProCDRS-03 Weighted Geometric Mean = 16.59

How's that for a LOWWW Resoult... What the F%@ ?????!

(det 40.72 with sq4 winxp professional)
my setup is athlon xp1800 with 1 gig or ram pc2100
visiontek geforce ti4600, Msi K7T266-pro2 ru,
    40 gig ibm deskstar,
    agp 4x,
    directx9, soundblaster audigy

I've tried lots of different drivers and still havent found any that offer a decent improvement in opengl apps. tried 41.03 40.72 41.09 30.82. This might be due to my low processor speed or the fact that im not running a P4. not sure... ? One thing i noticed when i installed win2k w/sp3 when using 40.72 sq4 patched windows seemed much smoother but when using 41.03 everything seemed slightly laging, but when i benchmarked the results they were almost exactly the same. strange...

Anyone found an optimal config for using softquadro? (drivers, os)

Only difference between normal dets and "those official quadro drivers" is that they were tested by the companys and found out that they didnĀ“t caused any issues with the application, this could be true for many other drivers out of the detonator series...
