the reason i ask is because i dont know who MFD. this card and have asked in numerous threads over time here on G3D who makes this specific model of a GTX260

its not the same as most others because it has 1.8GB of ram (when the 200 series was released, i havent even heard of a card with almost 2GB of ram)- then again i am not the most thorough information seeker....

since i am getting an SLI mobo this concerns me because i have allways heard that you have to have similar cards to SLI them

    ALSO

others say you can SLI two different cards (one for PhysX and one as the main renderer)

below is my NO-NAME GTX260 1.8GB GFX card

THIS is the GTX560 Ti i plan to SLI it with:

Not possible to SLi two different cards. You can use the 260 for PhysX. Put it in your system and check GPU-z, should give you some clues about the manufacturer.

no not possible, also give your cards a good cleaning with a can of air. you may be able to use the 260 as a physics card depending on how good that psu is

That's what my GTX275 looked like until 2 days ago when I completely disassembled it and cleaned all the dust out. Couldn't tell where the dust ended and the heatsink began.... That's got to be the absolute worst cooler ever produced....

BTW, the only thing I can find for your 1.8GB GTX260 is that HP was distributing them in Pavillion Elite e9250t and higher models...

I wouldn't even bother using the GTX 260 for physics, it will bottleneck the hell out of your GTX 560 Ti if you are running in sli, using it as a stand alone card should help a lot. Just try it.

GTX260 doing physX calculations isn't going to bottleneck a GTX560Ti....

No, additional vram doesn't provide any performance boost....unles of course you actually need the additional vram.
