Today we'll test and review the Radeon HD 5850 we'll check both the single GPU performance but also will check it out in CrossfireX multi-GPU mode. This card promises to go neck-on-neck with the 349... More...
Another great review Hilbert. I may have to get one of these next year. The GTX 285 values seem to be missing from page 21 or maybe the paragraph under the graph needs to be edited.
Very impressive- great price performance kit- let the price wars begin. Me thinks its time for a new card this Christmas
New card for me too, its a shame tho. When the 5850 is only just beating the 285, you know it's gonna get trashed by Nvidias next offering (unless they somehow totally ****up). Least the 5000 series will be priced better To eyeinfity and beyond!
Very nice card! Now that´s a very nice card with a great price, if it´s true it´s going to cost 200€! I paid 260€ when a gought my 8800GT! 2 of those beauties would make my day... But still, i´ll wait for Nvidias answer before deciding. There starting to pop out news about their new GT300. For those who want a little peak: http://www.brightsideofnews.com/new...ure-unveiled-512-cores2c-up-to-6gb-gddr5.aspx P.S. in case this link shouldn´t be in an ATI review for some reason, feel free to delete/change it.
I will take the infos about the GT300 again with a lot of care.. numbers differs in each "leaked specs " article.. Anyway, really surprised by this 5850, specially in Crossfire
very good card tbh might be my xmas buy or 5870 depends i think i wont buy another nvidia anytime soon unless it will cost less and perform better
Nice review again Hilbert (as all ways). Would be nice to see some Folding@Home PPD results from the new ATI cards.
Nice Review Hilbert once again!!! The 5850 is an awesome card price and performance wise! I just think about when I bought my 7800GTX years ago and I spent $500 on it and did not know that the new 7900GTX came out 2 weeks later. Talk about P.O.!! I would never spend no more than $300 for a graphics card again! I got my card for $299 and I am very happy with it! To me, no piece of technology such as a graphics card should cost more than $350.00. I am glad to see Ati keep the price at an affordable range and keep Nvidia from butt raping us all!! I see now that I may have to jump back on the ATI graphics. My first card was a Radeon 9250!
No rush to buy these just yet. I wanna see how Nvidia's GTX 3xx line stacks up before I make a decision about what to buy.
