I'd say a GPU core that's 50% faster than HD4000 would be a nice selling point. Llano is already 30% faster atm. In times of GPGPU that should be noticeable outside of games. But with APU's the one that doesn't stutter wins, which is mostly driver related, I guess.
Well, to be fair, spec-wise it's not really a fail per say. HD4000 still can't beat a Llano. And I'm pretty sure those under 3.0GHz parts are meant for notebooks. In any case, all depends on its final pricing.
I wonder why AMD doesnt use 28nm TSMC process, I know Its not easy to migrate an architecture to a lower NM scale but it would benefit them quite alot.
I love how everyone has condemned it without knowing a damn thing about the part. Honestly? I think it looks pretty good, if the info is to be believed. A 3.8Ghz part at no more than 100w with, essentially, a discrete video card on the die? Sounds pretty good to me.
Looks pretty good, not an enthusiast part but it actually looks pretty good. I'd use it in a rig for my parents, or friends who don't game but still need a desktop for work and stuff. It would also be a great HTPC build. Just because it won't win any benchmarks doesn't make it a fail if it's sold at a good price point. deltatux
agreed. the biggest segment of the market do not need enthusiast levels of performance.. but then again, wouldnt IVB's HD4000 be sufficient for this market segment as well?
Bolded part is fail, and always will be only when Intel teams up with Nvidia (which won't happen) to have an Intel APU with nvidia graphics will intel even come close
It will be great for budget minded or casual entry level gamers, in short the majority of gamers, although definitely not the ones that frequent this site.
Intel's ecosystem tends to be more expensive than AMD's ecosystem overall, and since AMD's graphics performs better, why won't you get the best performance for what you do for less. deltatux
The high-end might be 100W but they also have a 17w part that is for ultrabook designs that is supposed to rock the socks off of Intel graphics.
Are they gonna throw this chip on a tablet/slate with Win8? I would love to get that with some gaming support =]
