First things first, a sample is already here and Unwinder is working on a beta for overclock support Right that said, MSI is launching the Radeon RX 480 GAMING X 8G and 4G cards. Both are fitted wi... MSI launches Radeon RX 480 GAMING X 4G and 8G
Yawn. Am I the only one that thinks all of MSI stuff just looks to similar and now boring between GPU sides and GPUS. They are very nice though. But just dont stand out to me like MSI stuff used too.
^ Do aesthetics mean that much to you for a piece of hardware you'll probably never look at again or see once installed in your PC? I prefer good performance, cooling and quiet cards which is something MSI has gotten down pretty well with their design. Why change it if it works?
Considering I sit right next to my pc, which has a side window, aesthetics matter as well. XFX cards IMHO looked way better for the R9 series then MSI cards have lately. Thats my opinion. Plus I dont spend hours building a nice rig to hide it away and am even lucky to have what I have as a RIG anyways. To me, thats like building a bad ass show car or race car and just leaving it in the garage.
Well as you said IS YOUR OPINION. And probably not, you are not the only who thinks the same. Now move on.
22 post and you wanna walk around like your something around here and tell someone what to do. We had a discussion without issue. Kiss off with the attitude.
Msi has very nice cooling tho it would be nice if they had some aesthetic variation even if they only changed the shroud slightly.
I used to think MSI had good cooling, but I was very disappointed in the cooling ability of my MSI Gaming 290X. In stressful games the thing would overheat and throttle back badly Ended up wishing I went with a Gigabyte Windforce type with its much larger heatsink and extra fan. Even with the fans maxed the MSI could not cool itself (in stressful games. Normal games it was fine and quiet ofc) and was way too loud on top of that. Lets not even try to consider overclocking either... this was all at stock. MSI have just tried too hard to make a compact neat looking cooler that does work very ok (75% of situations), with actual cooling as a second place priority. ...I might add that my case had really quite Good airflow.
I loved the look and performance of all my last MSI cards, 680 Lightning, 970 4G, and now 1070 8g. It also fits my rig perfectly from an aesthetic point of view, since I'm all about black/red/white... and besides Twin Frozr 6 is very good. So yeah, each to his own.
The only problem i have with the design of any card is that when the card is pluged in I can only see the top(PCB or backplate) and the side, and not the cool design they make for the coolers.
I'm disappointed that the dragon logos on the fans are grey instead of red. It looks dorky either way, but I thought it was a nice touch on my 390X.
