Microsoft Edge declared 'least secure' browser in hacking event

at the 10th Pwn2Own event, Microsoft's Edge browser was hacked at least five times in three days. The Chakra JavaScript engine was exploited to execute most of these hacks, but one security team by the name of "360 Security" managed to perform a 'virtual machine escape'. This was done by utilizing a heap overflow bug in the browser, a buffer in VMWare Workstation that was not initialized, and a type confusion in the Windows kernel. Through this impressive exploit, the team bagged $105,000.

On the other hand, Safari was fully hacked three times and partially hacked once, which means that it fared only slightly better than Edge. Two hacking attempts were made against Mozilla's Firefox but only one of them was successful.

Chrome fared the best overall with only one hacking attempt against it - which failed to complete in the allotted time.
gg no re, MS. Losers.

Finally MS online services (I needed to access 1drive) are back and the first thing I see after logging in is an ad which dimmed the tab UAC style and had a message that I'm only on the basic plan and I should upgrade. Oh boy.

They never harassed me to upgrade to premium back in the 2MB hotmail days ironically.

Also, it's likely that they used the Redstone 1 version of Edge for that hacking test. The Creators version is significantly more secure from what I've read.

You can create ISO's from the UUP's as well.

UUP zips are 10GB though. That will take much longer than a 2.7GB esd.

I'm not saying Edge is secure at all, but keep in mind that people were probably more focussed on hacking Edge than they were with Safari, Firefox or Chrome. If this was the case, then Safari would actually have faired much worse than Edge.

You operate at the speed of bot, not me

Do you know any commands to parse through DISM's log file? I want to know what files are missing from the component store. It always fails at 98.6% even though I set install.esd or wim as the source.

I overclocked my bot clock

Don't know that much about DISM tbh, enough to check health / repair health, install .cab etc

Anything else I end up with a load of tabs open and notepad full of CMD lines to copy paste

Meh, ultimately it's the user who is the security risk

I read MS had some outages the other day. I think it was the same time I was getting that "update error" I posted about earlier on here. I'm downloading WZOR's ESD instead of using the UUP's from my last update so hopefully that makes the difference.
