Default Sorry i updated Win10 - 08-02-2017, 21:15 | posts: 1,300 | Location: In my house

So i was happily on 1511 and Windows 10 was fast and i had only 40 running processes.

I saw that they where talking about support finishing for 1511 in the near future so i thought why not update to 17xx which i did.

1703 15063.502 is now up and running but to my surprise it has a massive 106 running processes, 85 of them are Windows processes.

Now my system feels sluggish compared to 1511 and start-up/shutdown is so much slower.

I've got rid of some of the bloat that i don't intend to use like Cortana and OneDrive but still @ over 100 processes.

I'm sorry i updated now but will have to continue with it since there's no going back now.

Anyone know of a site that can help me get rid of all these useless processes? I know one site but they haven't included the latest version of Win10.

They're not really extra processes iirc, they have changed the task manager behaviour to display individual processes rather than one that contains multiple other processes, svchost I think is one of them that now shows multiple extra rather than one single

Svchost has been broken down to have each service as it's own process, hence the many additional processes.

There is no performance loss.

AH ok thanks i see now what they have done. You two are indeed correct but it puzzled me why such a big change to the amount of running processes. I found this helpfully explained it.

yah thought same thing it has no barreing on performance, cause I went drom 1151 to 1703 too, you can go back to same beavior if you want, but there is no diffrence in performance.

Though I have noticed some process in svchost are starting to have other processes running with in it again I have atlest3 svchost runing 2~4 process with in it
