This registry key activates Windows Photo Viewer, which Microsoft lied about removing http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/photo-viewer-for-windows-10 for the sake of making people use the "photos app"... it is not removed and is still a part of the OS. http://www.mediafire.com/download/qhsddstvpvml7ci/Windows_Photo_Viewer.reg Contents of the Registry key are. Are there any Windows 10 tips for getting driver-forced vsync to function when running a program in Windows compatibility mode (setting to older version of Windows)? If not, is there a reason why vsync does not function in compatability mode (i.e. does windows decide to run the program in borderless fullscreen window mode, which can not use vsync)? I remember driver-forced vsync functioning with compatibility mode for older versions of Windows (Vista and 7). Also, I tried running checking the box to run as Admin in the Windows compatibility options, but vsync still does not function. Of course, I can framelimit in the driver (via nvidia Profile Inspector) or use RivaTuner (RTSS).
Get rid of last windows 10 crapware Just wanted to share this little thing with you guys. I personally hate all these new modern windows 8-10 menus and interfaces oriented on mobile devices(or it more looks like it's oriented on dummies which can't hit smaller buttons :bugeye. I've read tonns of threads(including this one) and I did get rid off pretty much all of Microsoft's crapware. But there was this one little thing left. Do you remember Screen Resolution and Personalize context menus on desktop in Windows 7? Here's how you can get them back in 2 minutes: http://neowin.net/forum/topic/12660...ution-or-display-settings-back-on-windows-10/ It's about screen resolution only but you can also edit Personalize context menu using the same method. Proper personalize command: Code: rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL desk.cpl,,2 superuser.com/questions/236018/what-is-the-path-for-the-personalize-control-panel-in-windows-7
to let some know. i have 10 pro and win 10 even thou it was turned off loved downgrading my video drivers to a 6 month old one(even while in game) i had to talk to microsoft and argue with them for 45 min to turn the auto driver installs off. person actually had to ASK A SUPERVISIOR to make sure it was ok. anyways thats what i think started screwing up the files. for those that want to turn it off they went into regedit....hkeylocalmachine/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/driversearching/driverupdates..... then they turned it off.
but i had that off before. hence why i had to contact microsoft and have them actually turn it off. updated to anniversary and it stayed off. windows always liked to turn crap back on is why i had so many issues before.
Extraordinary you know techbench is gone now right? https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10ISO/ replaces it far as i an tell and the greasemonkey script work on it too and the tip from EdKiefer about UAC works great now does he have tip the make uac remeber windows location.
Adds back the original resolution settings screen to the right click > resolution menu, instead of the new settings panel Doesn't work with the AU build now
Never knew that right-click option was gone. I must be special because it is still there without any edits. The only difference is that it is one extra click away, need to click on Advanced, and one has a drop box compared to a slider. ALT-F4 from the desktop still works too.
That's what it changed, instead of the new setting panel resolution screen you're talking about, which everyone has got now, it used to add back the classic Win32 version
Basically what I was saying, it is not needed. All those settings are still there, just one extra click away for screen resolution and color profile loading.
Yea, it was for an older build of 10, which is why it doesn't work now, originally 10's resolution settings were hideously bad, trying to switch extended displays etc was difficult if not impossible with the new settings panel Most of the tips in this thread are for 10 RTM, some might still work, some won't Settings panel has improved 10 fold since RTM
