hey guys. I have a serious problem. I have an ASUS DIRECT CU II R9 290X OC. i bought it last year and had not any problem until now I could play games like witcher 3, project cars, gta v until yesterday. I just moved to a new house today. but when I start playing any games here, after a few minutes, screen turns off and monitor goes in power saving mode, windows stuck, and a buzzing sound coming from speakers. any helps will be much appreciated
Aww that s@cks! Since your system still worked fine in your old place, I guess it's an assembly problem. Make sure all wires and jacks are properly connected. Make sure all components are properly seated. Run some programs like CPU-Z and GPU-Z to check for anomalies (PCI speeds not matching the norm, RAM not registering, etc.). I sure hope you figure it out! Good luck.
thanx. but everything looks at its place. the weird thing's that looks like some textures load late. I just start a game. the game sometimes loads slower than before. after load some textures are missing. fans work normally. they don't even have enough time to start working faster for cooling down. the game crashes even before the temp goes high. a buzzing sound coming from speakers and most of the times the monitor starts power saving mode and i can't do anything except restarting system. i tried it on 2 windows' and same thing happens. everything's ok when i'm not in a game and working with windows though
Even if they look like they're in place I would reseat if you just moved them.I have had video cards come part way out just moving them from house to house. You got nothing to lose by doing that.
erm... FIRST question. the texture late load... did you test this with GTA especially? or with which games did you observe this? SECOND question. did you update the driver or did it autoupdate through windows update recently?
How heavy is cooler on your CPU? I would not move my PC with that heavy heatsink I have on it. I would not even leave graphics card in PCIe slot. Roads give thousands of opportunities for damage to happen due to momentum. You can run intel burn test to check if issue is with CPU. Or OCCT - separate CPU or GPU test. If you are not able to find out which is failing under load, then Your best shot is to do full disassemble/reassemble.
THANK YOU GUYS! i just removed the card and put it in its place again. surprisingly it's working. at least for now. I appreciate every single post here.
