Hello, I have a headset Sennheisser game zero, and a motherboard asrock z77 xtreme 4, the problem is uqe to connect not sound as good as they should and wanted to know which external sound card could buy to improve it, I've seen the creative soun play for 20 €, it shows a lot of improvement?
because the sound card of the extreme 4 z77 is very poor, the sound of the headset is terrible, what you recommend me?
He must be using onboard and he wants a separate soundcard, I think, he didn't mean a usb external card... regards, RagDoll.
I seen Sound blaster omni's for around 45-53 at amazon and ebay used which is a good choice if you want the software suite and yes its USB, it does have a good headphone amp for the money.
I would personally use an internal card like this: Creative Sound Blaster Z http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Blas...5012&sr=1-1&keywords=creative+sound+blaster+z Has a built in headphone amp that works quite well and there drivers now a days are leaps and bounds better than years past. It does include a beam mic which wont be needed with that headset, but if it ever goes bad you have nothing to worry about
The thing is the op never said the reason why he want's external, but the sound blaster omni is pretty much a External sound blaster Z as it has the same exact software suite and as well the same headphone amp chip. My guess he simply doesn't have room for a PCI-E sound card or he planning to also use it with a laptop.
