If you type in Intel Xeon x5460 Processor 3.16GHz/12M/1333Mhz equal to LGA775 Core 2 Quad Q9650 CPU,works on LGA775 mainboard no need adapter.

Well I am curoius would my Motherboard support it:

Just checking out before i finally upgrade my Pentium 925, this weekend. Thought i would ask about that. I was looking for an already modded one to buy , and i think the one in the link is it, but wanted to know would it work on my MB before buying it. Thanks. BTW my PS is 430W

Don't... VRM on that Dell Q965 mobo is nothing more than POS. Xeon X5460 is 120W CPU and even if it starts at that mobo (probably it wont do that at FSB 1333MHz, Q965 is FSB 1066MHz limited iirc) I really doubt it's going to work stable due to weak mobo's VRM. Even if it runs at FSB 1066MHz there will be missing SSE4.1 and VT-x istructions because BIOS of that mobo doesn't have microcodes for Xeon CPU's. I'm not sure to inject Xeon microcodes into BIOS of that mobo...

Xeon E5450 E0 is much better alternative: 80W CPU, highly OCable.. Have two of these in two of my older rigs, both OCed 4GHz+ on Asus P5B Deluxe/WiFi-AP and Asus P5Q Pro, both latest BIOS with Xeon microcodes injected by myself.

Other option: buy nice OC capable cheap second hand LGA775 mobo based on Intel P35 or P45 chipset, inject Xeon microcodes into BIOS or download already Xeon modded BIOS: http://genius239239.myweb.hinet.net/771
...pair it with Xeon E5450 E0 already LGA771 to LGA775 modded without sticker (velded pins, better solution) and CPU corners cutted, it's somethig like 20$ or few more on Aliexpress, guess it's same on eBay and OC that fu**er to 4GHz.

Where have you been last 10, 15 days?

Wait a second, i have to find one on Ebay. How do i know if a cpu has been modded? I found this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/Intel-Xeon-...418333?hash=item3d2c4053dd:g:VssAAOSwbYZXWFAe

Reading the reviews, someone said it works in his 775 socket, but the cpu doesn't look like its LGA 775. My budget is under 20, if you can't help me find one or i find one myself, I'm just going to go with my original idea and upgrade from the 925 to a E8400, which will also do what i want to do.

Take a look at this one on Aliexpress. It's Xeon E5450 E0 SLBBM modded both on sides (no need to cut plastic in CPU socket) and from the bottom (velded pins, better and more secure solution compared to sticker).

If you're ordering one from AliExpress do it from mobile App, it will be a bit cheaper, there are discounts if you're ordering that way.

But as I said earlier I'm not sure either X5460 or E5450 E0 are going to work on that Dell Q965 mobo of yours...

I'm not about to order from China/that site, the modded chips were at ebay though, but i just decided to ordered a e8400 which is far superior over this pentium D 925. Should get get by next week. that should hold me over :)
