Pre-ordered the PC version from shopto and saved £10 compared to steam page digital version. Konami team have announced an open beta at the end of july, which unfortunately is limited to PS4/XB1. Their is talk of a PC Demo in August but I'm sceptical since the PES 2013 Demo hacking scandal.
If they did not make any gameplay improvement on the pitch guess i would not care so long as they give us decent PC port and get rid of the damned regen system.
until now all people have given positive feedback after the e3, looks like they fixed what was bad in pes 2017 but im still skeptical about the player returning to attack and positioning on the pitch,..
PES is a good game but the lack of proper licenses continues to annoy me such that I usually just end up not buying it (a much easier decision in recent years due to Konami's laziness with the PC version) and playing FIFA instead. I know you can mod it and it's relatively straight forward to do on PC but it just feels "cheap" that in order to get an authentic experience with the correct players names and teams you have to rely on a third-party mod! I've never understood quite why Konami cannot get the correct licenses when there have been in the past several different publishers making NBA (2K/Acclaim/EA), MLB (Sony/EA/2K) and American Football (2K/SEGA & EA) games. Are Konami just cheap-skates?
yes they are cheap, but more partnerships are coming this year and Konami is giving more towards development. So hopefully we see more stuff in future....I think they're tired of EA kicking there ass.
i got the online beta on PS4......I thought 2017 was good but not great. i give 2017 a 8.0 out of 10. But 2018 beta is a different game man! Really good! not joking, i think it's the best PES sense PES 5.. looser ball, better player movements, goalies have much better animations. and they confirmed they are adding more shooting animations and styles. they improved graphics in new build. this beta i'm playing is older build.
Already tried the beta and it has the same pros and cons of previous versions. The atmosphere is very nice, graphics and animations are great with certain players executing passes, shots and tackles in amazing fashion. Tactically the games is good on offensive term with players going forward in the right time and offering lots of options. Defensively the game is a mess. Forward players have lots of space and it´s really hard to take the ball away. There are lots of occasions when i think the ball is mine and instead the opponent keeps it... But the worst part of the game is the same as previous PES, the speed or lack of it. Konami insists on making the game deliberately slower than it should to mask the fact that the AI can´t defend. Faster players and barely faster than the slower ones and trying to pass the ball quickly is impossible because even the ball movement is slow has hell!... So 7/10 but if the game had a proper speed it would be a 9 easily. Fix the damn speed and the game is gold!...
