I have read a review about overclocking my 7850 and it says that the memory can be boosted to 5800 MHz??

Here is the quote actually from Guru3Ds on their review of the MSI R7850 Power Edition: "Memory can be boosted as well, just max it out at 5800 MHz"

My question is, 5800MHz a conversion or something? Because MSI afterburner maxes my memory out at 1560MHz.

    1560x4 (due to GDDR5 = Quad Channel) = 6240 Mhz

not the most elegant answer but it should be correct

so 5800MHz is the same as 1450MHz? Just divide by 4?

GDDR5 is quad data rate memory.

    So while a clock frequency is say (example) 1250 MHz, the effective data-rate is 1250 x 4 channels = 5000 MHz / Gbps .
