I have an AGP HD3850 and its very noisy, while working it drives me crazy. The minimum setting I can put it on is 25%, is there anyway to lower it even more? Cheers Robbo
You'll burn out your video card very quickly. Video card fans rarely run at 100%. 25% is usually plenty for idle and what not. But you still need moving air, else the warm air will collect inside the video cards cooling system, faster than it can passively dissipate. Long story short, if you turn off your fan, you'll fry your card. And AGP cards are becoming rare and expensive, so if you fry your card, you wont be able to get a new one cheap. In other words, just leave it alone, and set the fan speed to auto. Else buy a high quality passive cooler for it. Or one of the many active low-noise coolers. Edit: Passive cooler, perfectly silent, no fan at all. But wont be the coolest running. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835186016 Just because this one doesn't have a fan, doesn't mean you can't add one. Possibly even 2 ultra-low noise fans. An active cooler, still very quiet compared to stock coolers. High quality, good cooling, great reviews. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118117
