Default Low performance on 6630m - 07-17-2012, 00:42 | posts: 6

Hi.
I have a Dell Vostro 3450 (intel i5 2410, 3gb ram, radeon 6630m 1gb). Ulps always disabled.
Ever since my notebook came home i had minor performance issues with my graphic card.
Newer games (gta 4, minecraft, crysis2) were always practically unplayable, but after some fiddling i found out that after slight overclocking it i could magically run most of them at medium/full details.

But the real weirdness comes right here : It works exactly the same if i underclock it.
After startup, all these games perform very poorly, but any, even slightest change in clocks (no matter if up or down) gives me practically double, sometimes triple fps.

It works only with Sapphire trixx, when ocing/ucing with Msi Afterburner i dont see even slightest change in performance.
It is not permanent however, it lasts 5-10 mins, then its performance slows back down and i need to change clocks again.

Ulps was always disabled. Dell doesnt care + i cant have new official drivers because i have hybrid graphics notebook and Dell practically doesnt release new drivers for these systems (my graphics cards are hard switched, i dont use that application switching half-working crap). Recently i tried leshcat unifl drivers, well, they performed even worse.
I will do complete system reinstall tomorow but i doubt heavily it will change, because i was having this problem since buying this notebook.

I could really appreciate any help. Im dead stuck here. Does anyone have even slightest idea what is going on in here, or at least what can i do ?
Thanks for any help.

I use leshcat 12.2 on my 6770m. I had issues with it staying in 2d mode on some other drivers making games run at 2-3fps. 12.2 seems to give best performance/workingness ratio for me. Minecraft still runs like sh!t tho (50fps but massive micro stutter).

I have a 27 Inch new iMac with Intel Core i5 2500S 3,8 GHz and AMD Radeon HD 6770M.I've tried any driver version though I think the only ones which work decently are 12.7 and 12.4.
Here are some benchmarks:
Max Payne 3 Everything High-Ultram1920x1080:40-50 FPS
Battlefield 3 All HIGH(Textures Ultra),1680x1050:40 FPS(Overclocked)
Assassin's Creed Revelations Maxed OUT,2560x1440:40 FPS(No OC)-55 FPS(With OC)
NFS The RUN All ULTRA,1920x1080:28 FPS(No OC)-38 FPS(OC)
