hey all, wondering if there is any point to try fiddling with command rate on the memory overclock section of bios, as in lowering it from 2T to 1T(0T?) would that give any improvement in gaming performance? or other benefits?

    thanks!

Leave command rate at 2 to get best performance, although difference between 1 an 2 is negligible.

No command rate at 1 is better.

lowering the commandrate will increase performance , but it will also be harder to overclock? and might have to increase timings on the memory?

dunno if its any point messing with it though for gaming

Back in the old days lowering command rate could affect some memory modules negatively, but since intel IMCs are strong, most kits should be able to do 1T.

It wont post if it can't handle it.

Yes it can be harder to overclock. My own CPU's memory controller has a hard time with 3200MHz and 1T, it's just not 100% stable and sensitive games (Overwatch for instance) crashed because of that. But on the other hand, I guess my CPU does have a weak memory controller.

You might have better luck trying a higher DRAM reference clock. You will just need to do do a couple of memory speed tests with a higher DRAM reference clock with 1T versus standard reference clock with 2T timing and see which on performs better for you.

Have you tried increasing VCCIO voltage to 1.15-1.2~ from default 1.05 to see if it alleviates the issue?
VCCIO voltage helps CPUs with poor IMCs

No actually I just tried to do it via the VCCSA, will have to have a look at it. So it only works on advertised specs, might look at it again. Will give feedback here.
