Again a nightmare with my PC. I just got a new PSU, Mobo, CPU cause it blew up, i got it for 2 weeks and AGAIN my PC shuts off and won't turn boot. I rooted it down to CPU, the PC does start for a split second and turns off and i hear a click coming from the PSU. Mobo leds are on like always so i think it's the CPU. First thing i tried is booting without ram, gpu's and same problem, so i'm almost sure it's the CPU. Also tried resetting cmos with no succes. Is there anything else i can try?
That is strange, does you electric line is not stable/safe? Vulnerable to lighting electric discharge? I mean, what killed the last equipment?
More likely the motherboard than the CPU if it shuts off. Bad CPU will give you a POST error or a black screen in most instances. Possible short somewhere, check all your standoffs and cables.
So there is a chance nothing died? I really hope so, i really don't have the money to replace something. I'll be without a PC for a long time.:bang:
I told you the first time to just get rid of everything that worked (except gpu's) and get something like H97+i5 4460. Is there anything you can try your CPU? Maybe friends?
Breadboard the PC, try to measure the output of your PSU, let the board rest without CMOS for a few days etc. Funny thing is that I have a Gigabutt board here that did the same thing. Flashed a new BIOS which didn't help. Let it rest for about a week at our shop and started testing it a few hours ago (it isn't that busy due to the weather) and it works! If you need any help/parts just say it
Remove the power cables, battery and see if the mobo have a CMOS RESET jumper. Change the jumper to RESET position, wait a minute and set the jumper to default position, put the battery back and cables.
Soms friends still use same old socket hut theyll never let me do that. I dont have the money to get new stuff or i would have done that.
Did you remove everything from the case and run it just by itself? Set it on top of a motherboard box or something.
If it's the same with another PSU, I basically guarantee the new motherboard has failed. It happens. A bad CPU can't issue a shut down command.
I have found the problem. Its the psu so im back stuck with one videocard. Im lucky i still had a psu around.
