Also to prove a point, the game would run just fine on two cores and the limit is artificial, someone already did a test of it http://youtu.be/iAzBJnkqZDw

If the issues I was having constantly wasn't going to kill the game for me the moment I entered the eastern side of the map only to be told "turn back this area is hostile" as a 10 second countdown forced me to turn my little buzz chopper right around and head back the way I came was going to. This isn't Battlefield ffs, this is supposed to be Far Cry and if I just so happen to enter an area that had the odds stacked against me then so be it, I'm more than up to the challenge. But no. There is no such thing as being given the option in this, turn back or instadie.

Oh what have you become Far Cry? I hardly recognise you any longer.

Ahem..Splinter Cell: Blacklist, it ran like butter since day 1 and it had great graphics.

I think you'll find Splinter Cell: Blacklist actually ran pretty poorly on release but the very first patch alleviated it of all performance issues in one go. Or at least that's how I seem to remember it going down back then.

I remember SC:BL being very annoying, buggy, especially with character movement

Not doing what I told him to, then when I tried to stop moving, him continuing to move, climbing walls I didn't want him to climb etc

Oh lol you really think I cant notice any framerate flaw?
The reason why i got an overclockable panel is, 60 fps was not smooth enough for me.
May be you need a gpu upgrade to fix your issues.
I am getting 96fps with vsync on :)

I get my 1440p monitor tomorrow. I'm anxious to see how much of a difference it will make. I'm also getting a 5820k and X99 platform along with a new SSD. Hoping for good results.

Not to mention Blacklist isn't an open world game. Ubisoft and openworld as of late = stutter. Such a shame because Dunia was so promising when FC2 came out. Very smooth, never stuttered even when I had older hardware. They've added a lot of effects for better or worse but somewhere along the lines, they screwed something up.

Hopefully nvidia should release update driver with performance fixes, but 1.4 this 40mb eliminated a lot of stutter for me, that and GPUFrame tweak(Maxaheadlimit).

Precisely my train of thought. Dunia in Far Cry 2 kicked serious butt performance wise and was half of what made the game what it was. Plus I still think the world in FC2 was better detail wise with that performance.

Yeah FC2 ran very well at a time when DX10 titles were notorious for poor performance. I wonder what happened to them?

wow that's stopped the stutter for me too, thanks :)

just to be sure, are the commands "bcdedit /deletevalue useplatformclock" and "bcdedit /set useplatformclock false" the same thing?

Have you disable HPET from Bios or just in windows?

This particular option is often mentioned for possibly increase (or decrease) of in-game performance in general, for a lot of games, not just Ubisoft.
I can understand Ubi criticism, especially on PC with their latest releases, but c'mon...

Nope, I wouldn't be disabling anything in my BIOS for any game

I know all about the HPET theory, I even tried it years ago, caused more problems than anything else
