I have a hp pavillion G6 laptop, with core i5 3210m and ati 7670m. My problem is that when i play games on my laptop, it overheats like anything to close to 100 deg C. and the fan RPM reaches max which makes a lot of noise. This is worrying me (will it affect the life of laptop). Please advise.
uh oh, sometimes laptop overheat in general! That is why they sell strange accessory for cooling laptops. I would call manufacture and ask about overheat on your model # because can be problem! They will be able to tell you if warranty coverage, if you need replace or if it is ok and in fact not overheat.
Air is flowing under the notebook??? when using? did u ever CHANGED any settings under BIOS, (CPU or GPU software features)..? Under which O/S playing games> Check: Latest revision of BIOS (as there are technologies for SWITHCHING GPUs)
At the risk of sounding stupid... 1) like was suggested, try a can or two of canned air and blow out all air intakes. 2) get a nice laptop cooler, a flat plate with one or more fans under it, forcing cold air into the laptop. The larger the fan, the slower it can spin and make less noise with high airflow...especially durning gaming.
