it's pretty common on entusiast mother board.

on an old X79 from MSI it was even 2X8pin + 2xPCIe power pin

Well the CPU takes some, but also all those PCIE slots, that all need power as well, then it's not to much. And if you us it as a mining rig with 6xR480........

Also my next rig with X299 ASUS ROG Rampage VI APEX Motherboard have 2 x 8 pin power. :)

    Kind regards
    B.

I don't think they're bent; AMD has a tendency to make their sockets ever so slightly asymmetrical. I imagine it drives people with OCD nuts.

As BLEH! stated, its for a riser card with two extra M2 slots on it.
i think there are 3 total available on this board, all told (including riser card)

That's right.... No power concerns here...just wants of that "Powah!!"

I was gaming last night and just the three of my four cards I have hooked up to one PSU is drawing 1200+ and pushing 1100+ to the three cards. So I figure I'm around 1300-1400+ watts draw.

Maybe I'll sell off some things here soon for a threadripper HEDT solution. I have been digging those M.2 slots and their throughput capabilities for some time now. Love not seeing a boot screen on my wife's laptop as it is so fast with an integrated M.2 for the OS.
