    Awesome, cheers!

    EDIT:

Thanks a bunch this program just showed me that one of my drives has a spin up read error. Health is still at 97% so nothing too bad really. Still going to back up all 643GB of data I have stored on it just in case. Will more than likely replace it soon anyway. It has been in operation apparently for over 450 days!!

I installed this program last year when it was going free back then, and it told me my 1TB drive was about to give up the ghost, I backed up anyway not believing it as I was having no problems with it and 3/4 of the way through the backup, it failed completely

Luckily Id backed up the most important stuff first so was just a load of tv shows I lost, but yea, it saved me some pain too :)

I'm usually a bit leary about such software but if Extraodinary says it's safe I'll give it a shot...

Bad warning? Time to backup ?

EDIT - All the horror stories about Seagate, I have 2 x Seagate, a 160GB old thing and my current C:\ 2TB Seagate

Both 100% / 100% for performance & Health, all my other non-Seagate drives have failed lol

    Only Seagate survived

The 160GB drive has 1303 days power on time with more than 521 days remaining with 6,775 total start stop count

Nothing that I wasn't expecting. It's got a few bad sectors. Nothing I didn't know 5 years ago. The drive is unbootable anyway. If I install Windows on it today, I'll be reinstalling next week. It's just completely unstable as a system drive.

Ive got an old 250GB IDE Laptop drive like that - fine for storage but install windows on it and it'll corrupt and kill it not long after

Yeah. I was expecting to see a warning that the drive only had hours left to live....lol Instead I see this...

Power On time: 1191 days 16 hours.
    Lifespan remaining: 559 days.

haha nice, must be faulty some place the MBR or something gets copied to when you install Windows, but not somewhere you would use for storage

It still chugs along...slow as hell to copy files to or from....but it still works.

I usually buy drives in pairs, and I always get 1 good drive and 1 drive I can't boot from. Never fails.

lol, actually the Seagate 2TB I have in here now was the emergency replacement for my 1TB that this program told me was about to fail last year, and fail it did while I was backing it up

my 500 gb seagate barracuda say its at 86% life and give it about another 568 days of life expectancy. the but knew this already. as it has relocated sectors for year or so now.

I have to replace it at some point with bigger drive i just not dont it yet cause i keep hear people complain about these new drives having chirping noises due to the heads going in to power save mode or something like that.

My 2TB Seagate had a chirping noise firmware fix sent out not long before I bought it, so I updated the firmware before using the drive and it's been quiet as a mouse and fine ever since
