How to record your desktop in Windows 7 using a timer?

I'd like to use my pc to record tv programs from free tv stations such as the Danish DR1.

I've found plenty of options to record your desktop, but none of them lets you easily set a timer for when to start and stop recording.

Can any of you help?

You can schedule a task in Control Panel->Administrative tools->Task scheduler

 

Thanks - I was looking for something a little easier and simpler to use, though.
