A recent picture on twitter made me think about it.

Then I think about the times I take my camera out in the rain or snow and maybe that could have been a bad idea. I've dropped this Sony NEX multiple times, and it's still alive though :D

Made a good try - crashed onto a motorbike with my VW. The bike driver was a professional photographer and his lens bag flew onto the tarmac with all that $$$$ stuff. Luckily nothing was damaged except my VW with a bent bumper an a biiig dent on the front. The bike got its luggage carrier bent - but it got fixed just by bending back. So my VW was the only victim - no human casualties. Phew!

Gopro hero 3. Total POS. Camera "bricked up" after half a year of casual use. And yes ,firmware updates and all. No response from gopro customer service. They just don't care about customers. Its still under warranty but zero response from them after many phone calls/emails letters etc.
    Don't buy gopro stuff,total crap. $350us gone.:bang:

Tried to remove the IR Block filter from a point n shoot a while ago, needless to say it is still in 1000 pieces in the bottom of a draw somewhere

my old 60D and i was hit by a freak wave while shooting sunrise at a beach (like, top to bottom), funny enough it worked perfectly fine for the next 6 months, but when i sent it to canon for a sensor clean and general maintenance/check they rang me up and said auto focus stopped working, i argued that it was fine right up to when i was sending it to them but they said they opened it up and found the internals rusting away apparently :-/

Guess it sucks to be you.

I'm running 3 Gopros right now (two Hero2's and one Hero3) and no hardware issues at all. About a year ago I ran into firmware issues with the Hero2's and GoPro replaced them very quickly.

EDIT: Besides the GoPro firmware issue, one of my dogs did decide to chew up and destroy a point and shoot I had. Thankfully they never got to the DSLR.

I sort-off killed my Tokina 11-16mm when I went to China. It was 46 degree Celsius and the Humidity around 85%. After a while, the contacts between the camera and the lens gave up. Luckily my other lenses weren't affected by the weather conditions.

Killed an old Olympus a few years ago when I tried a inward heelflip over it... The shots might have looked great! Never got to see them though :D

At a wedding I did earlier this year. The brides 4 yr old ran past my tripod which had a D700 and a 70-200 f.28 vr on it. I was going to use for the speeches,
he caught it with his leg and totally wiped it out and hit the floor hard.
The lens snapped in two but luckily the D700 lived to shoot another day.
I cried and so did the bride when she asked how much it all cost lol

I can add to this thread now....I somehow killed my new lens in a few months. The internal motor died, and it no longer can auto focus and is not recognized by the camera :(.
